Hysteroscopy in Massapequa, NY

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows our team to examine the inside of the uterus using a thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope. This advanced technique is crucial for diagnosing and treating various uterine conditions, such as abnormal bleeding, fibroids, polyps, and adhesions. At Mid Nassau OBGYN in Massapequa and Hewlett, NY, our team utilizes hysteroscopy to provide precise and effective patient care. By using this state-of-the-art procedure, we can ensure accurate diagnoses and perform necessary treatments with minimal discomfort and downtime, enhancing overall patient outcomes.

During a hysteroscopy, a hysteroscope will be inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterus. This thin, lighted tube transmits high-resolution images to a monitor, allowing us to closely examine the uterine lining and identify any abnormalities. The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis and can be done under local, regional, or general anesthesia, depending on the patient's needs and the complexity of the case. Patients can expect a relatively quick and straightforward process, often lasting between 10 – 30 minutes. Mild cramping and light spotting may occur afterward, but most patients can resume normal activities within a day or two, experiencing minimal discomfort and a swift recovery.

A hysteroscopy offers numerous benefits, making it an invaluable gynecological care tool. This minimally invasive procedure provides several advantages over traditional methods, including:

  • Reduced recovery time
  • Minimal discomfort
  • High accuracy in diagnosis
  • Ability to perform immediate treatment
  • Decreased need for more invasive surgeries

These benefits collectively enhance patient experience and outcomes, ensuring a more efficient and effective approach to addressing various uterine conditions.

The sweetest and kindest doctor! So thorough with explaining things and taking time not to rush through appointments like other doctors do. The nurse and receptionist are so nice too!

Dr Neuman and staff were awesome during my third pregnancy. They were on top of every test and made sure everything was going smoothly. I delivered my baby at exactly 38 weeks. They were quick with each appointment and my older children loved going with me ( they had toys for them to play with and always got a lollipop after). Happy to be coming back for my annuals and continuing care after pregnancy

This office is a breath of fresh air. I’ve had so many bad experiences around the island and finding Dr. Neuman feels like a godsend. All the staff were friendly and helpful and Dr. Neuman was very respectful and informative. I was hesitant about seeing a male Gynecologist but he made it a very comfortable environment and is a naturally warm person. I was seen immediately upon arriving, no wait time, and the procedures did not hurt and went smoothly. Plus they accept Medicaid! I would leave 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend.
