The sweetest and kindest doctor! So thorough with explaining things and taking time not to rush through appointments like other doctors do. The nurse and receptionist are so nice too!

Dr Neuman and staff were awesome during my third pregnancy. They were on top of every test and made sure everything was going smoothly. I delivered my baby at exactly 38 weeks. They were quick with each appointment and my older children loved going with me ( they had toys for them to play with and always got a lollipop after). Happy to be coming back for my annuals and continuing care after pregnancy

This office is a breath of fresh air. I’ve had so many bad experiences around the island and finding Dr. Neuman feels like a godsend. All the staff were friendly and helpful and Dr. Neuman was very respectful and informative. I was hesitant about seeing a male Gynecologist but he made it a very comfortable environment and is a naturally warm person. I was seen immediately upon arriving, no wait time, and the procedures did not hurt and went smoothly. Plus they accept Medicaid! I would leave 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend.

What are the common types of urinary incontinence?

There are several types of urinary incontinence, each with different causes and symptoms. Stress incontinence occurs when physical activities like coughing, sneezing, or exercising put pressure on the bladder. Urge incontinence involves a sudden, intense need to urinate, often with leakage before reaching a restroom. Mixed incontinence is a combination of these two, while overflow incontinence happens when the bladder doesn’t empty completely.

How can I strengthen my pelvic floor muscles?

Pelvic floor exercises, often called Kegels, are a common way to strengthen these muscles. To perform them, identify the muscles you use to stop urine flow, then contract and hold them for a few seconds before releasing. Aim for multiple sets daily, gradually increasing the duration as your muscles get stronger.

Is urinary incontinence more common in women than men?

Yes, urinary incontinence is more common in women, primarily due to factors like pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause, which can weaken pelvic floor muscles and affect bladder control. However, men can also experience incontinence, often due to issues like prostate problems or surgeries. Regardless of gender, incontinence is a manageable condition, and treatments are available for everyone.
