What Should I Expect with A VBAC?
When patients opt for VBAC at Mid Nassau OBGYN, they can expect a thorough and personalized approach to their childbirth experience. VBAC involves close monitoring throughout pregnancy to ensure both the mother's and baby's safety. The process begins with a detailed evaluation of the patient's medical history, previous cesarean delivery, and overall health to determine their eligibility for VBAC. During labor, continuous fetal monitoring is used to track the baby's well-being, and the patient's progress is closely observed to promptly address any complications. The supportive team at Mid Nassau OBGYN provides constant care and guidance, ensuring that patients are well-informed and comfortable at every stage. This comprehensive approach aims to create a safe, positive, and successful VBAC experience, allowing patients to confidently achieve their birthing goals.
What Are the Benefits of A VBAC?
A VBAC at Mid Nassau OBGYN in Massapequa and Hewlett, NY offers numerous benefits for mothers seeking a vaginal delivery after a previous cesarean section. Some of the key advantages include:
- Shorter recovery time: Vaginal delivery typically involves a quicker recovery period compared to cesarean section, allowing mothers to return to their daily activities sooner.
- Reduced risk of surgical complications: Avoiding another surgery decreases the likelihood of complications, such as infections, blood loss, and injury to organs.
- Enhanced bonding experience: The natural process of vaginal birth can promote immediate skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding, fostering a stronger initial bond between mother and baby.
- Lower risk of respiratory problems for the baby: Babies born vaginally are less likely to experience respiratory issues compared to those delivered via cesarean section.
- Opportunity for a more natural birth experience: Many mothers find that a vaginal birth aligns more closely with their personal preferences and birth plan, providing a sense of accomplishment and empowerment.
In addition to these benefits, VBAC can offer a more empowering birthing experience. It allows mothers to enjoy the physical and emotional advantages of vaginal delivery. The team at Mid Nassau OBGYN ensures a supportive environment to help maximize these benefits, promoting the well-being of both mother and baby.
Mid Nassau OBGYN Reviews
The sweetest and kindest doctor! So thorough with explaining things and taking time not to rush through appointments like other doctors do. The nurse and receptionist are so nice too!
lovely staff! lovely doctor
Dr Neuman and staff were awesome during my third pregnancy. They were on top of every test and made sure everything was going smoothly. I delivered my baby at exactly 38 weeks. They were quick with each appointment and my older children loved going with me ( they had toys for them to play with and always got a lollipop after). Happy to be coming back for my annuals and continuing care after pregnancy
I am writing this review to say , I had wonderful experience . Staff is very friendly and helpful and Dr Neuman was calm and easy to talk you. very nice office . Highly recommend
This office is a breath of fresh air. I’ve had so many bad experiences around the island and finding Dr. Neuman feels like a godsend. All the staff were friendly and helpful and Dr. Neuman was very respectful and informative. I was hesitant about seeing a male Gynecologist but he made it a very comfortable environment and is a naturally warm person. I was seen immediately upon arriving, no wait time, and the procedures did not hurt and went smoothly. Plus they accept Medicaid! I would leave 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions
What factors might prevent me from having a VBAC?
Certain conditions may make VBAC less advisable, such as a high vertical (classical) uterine incision, multiple previous cesareans without prior vaginal deliveries, or specific medical conditions. It's crucial to review your surgical records and discuss any concerns with your provider.
How can I increase my chances of a successful VBAC?
To improve the likelihood of a successful VBAC, focus on maintaining a healthy pregnancy, staying informed about the process, and choosing a supportive healthcare team experienced in VBACs. Open communication with your provider about your goals and concerns is essential.
Can I still have a VBAC if I had a large baby before?
Yes, many women successfully have a VBAC, even if they previously delivered a large baby. Your provider will assess factors such as pelvic structure and fetal positioning to determine if VBAC is a good option.
